Revolt of Mother- This story stuck me and inspirational and empowering. The women in this story had been ignored repeatedly by her husband and she had not received the respect she felt she deserved. When the mother wanted a new place to live for a long time and he didnt ever take her feelings into consideration, her pain and frustration grew and built up inside of her. At the end of the story she stands up for herself and actually has a break through where her husband falls to the ground and weeps. She has this triumphant moment of being heard finally.
Trifles-This story was a bit confusing to me, i might have to read it again in order to understand it better, but my initial reaction was revenge. I felt the women in the story felt victimized by her husband so she was guilty of murdering him. He had killed her bird, that she loved very much, so she killed him. Something that we talked about was women in reference to objects and i felt like the narrator was saying that the women was the "bird" and that the the man took the life out of the bird. The woman however got her revenge by doing the same thing to her husband. Another theme i got from this story was sisterhood, and how the women in the story were trying to cover up for their fellow woman who committed this crime, because they knew the pain she had gone threw prior to the murder.
Children Together- This story came off as selfish to me. In my opinion the narrator was rubbing the fact that she had done things in her life that they had both talked about back when they were young childhood friends. The narrator talks about how she went to Paris and how wonderful it was to achieve and live out her dreams.

  1. I found Trifles confusing at times as well. I think the woman killed her husband too. You think it was out of revenge for killing her bird? I wonder why the husband chose to kill the bird then, when it was the one thing that she spent time with and enjoyed being around.
